The Tetbury Music Festival - 2007

The opening concert on the Thursday evening will be a programme by the Aronowitz Ensemble. The Aronowitz Ensemble was founded in 2004, bringing together leading young chamber musicians to perform repertoire which fits within the various formations of their string sextet and piano combination.

Friday evening will be Masters of the Italian Renaissance with The Sixteen and Harry Christophers. Music written by Allegri, Palestrina and Victoria.

The Saturday morning concert will be by Red Priest with a programme appropriate for the approach of Hallowe'en. This dynamic Baroque quartet was formed in 1997 and is named after the flame-haired priest, Antonio Vivaldi. They will also be leading a workshop event in the afternoon.

The evening concert on Saturday will feature The Florestan Trio , one of the world's leading piano trios, joined by Catherine Manson and James Boyd, playing Schubert, Beethoven and Elgar.

As usual there will be the Festival Service in the Parish Church of St Mary the Virgin on Sunday morning, to which you are all welcomed. This will include the Widor double organ Mass.

The final concert early Sunday evening will be the Orchestra of the Age of Enlightenment, with singers including Sarah Connolly and Giles Underwood, and a programme of two Concerti Grossi by Handel and a performance of Dido and Aeneas by Purcell.

There is also a Music-Makers Art Exhibition. This will be at the Eight Bells Gallery,
14 Church Street just up from the church, and open for an hour before each concert. Watercolours and oils by Sir Thomas Allen, Roger Vignoles, Catherine Wyn-Rogers and Vivienne Luxton will be for sale - cash or cheques only.

We are sure you will all find many things that you will enjoy in this exciting programme.
