Introduction 2006 |
The Tetbury Music Festival - 2006
The programme is now finalised, and we are very pleased to be able to let you know what you can look forward to during the weekend of 5-8 October. You will see that this year there will again be a Thursday concert, reflecting the growth of the Festival. This opening concert is a performance of Rachmaninov's Vespers with Bath Camerata conducted by Nigel Perrin. As promised, Steven Isserlis will again be performing with friends at this year's festival, in not one but two concerts on Friday and Saturday evening. As is becoming usual we have a premier during the festival, this year it is the UK premier of Fruhling's Fantasy as part of the concert on Saturday morning. The final concert is of works by Johann Kuhnau and his successor in Leipzig, J S Bach, including Bach's Lutheran Mass in G. The soloists are Emma Kirkby, Robin Blaze, Charles Daniels and Peter Harvey with the King's Consort directed by Robert King. We hope you will all find things that you will enjoy in this programme. The programmes and notes from the 2003, 2004 and 2005 Festivals can be reached through the 2003, 2004 and 2005 links on the sidebar. Graham Kean and Elise Smith, Co-Directors
